When I’m scouring eCommerce and retail news I’m looking for what it will tell me about how to be successful in the future. How strategies and marketing activity needs to adapt to the ever-changing marketplaces we operate in.
In business, we have to listen to the customer if want to grow and stay in business. And what this report, along with many others, is telling us is that the customer wants to buy on Amazon.
Which leaves me thinking – what does that then mean for own-website sales? What does the role of the company website become? What can we take from the attraction of Amazon and use in our own sites?
This is going to be a fascinating space for the next few years.

Subscription eCommerce is my other big obsession at the moment, as this report from Royal Mail states within the next 5 years it’s going to be worth £1bn in the UK.
