Celebrating International Women's Day.
Why is it important to celebrate International Women’s day? Visibility of female role models is essential when it comes to inspiring the next generation to produce, succeed and overtake this one. Creating and sustaining equality requires conscious effort from men and women alike, by supporting each other we are all propelled to the next level.
There are so many amazing women in leading ecommerce roles in the UK today. We’ve put together this list to recognise and honour their incredible achievements as innovators, founders, CEOs, investors and ecommerce journalists.
Chief Creative Officer at Portas, a fully integrated creative agency, fuelled by the power of Mary. Portas looks at everything through the lens of People (or PX), predominantly in the retail, fashion and service sector. In her spare time, Mary is a Retail Advisor, journalist, TV presenter, author, Save the Children ambassador and Government adviser.
Eileen is a Partner at Passion Capital, the early-stage technology venture fund based in London. In addition to Passion Capital, Eileen is also the Chair of Tech City UK, which is the British government-backed organisation supporting the digital economy across the UK.
Natalie Massenet MBE
Natalie is the Founder & Executive Chairman, The Net-a-Porter Group. She also co-founded Imaginary Ventures in 2017. Imaginary is a Venture Capital Fund that invests in early-stage opportunities at the intersection of retail and technology in Europe and the US.
Sherry Coutu CBE
Sherry Coutu is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and advisor who currently chairs the Scale-Up Institute, the Financial Strategy Advisory Group for the University of Cambridge and Founders4Schools. She also is a Tech Ambassador for the Mayor of London. Sherry was awarded the CBE for services to entrepreneurship in 2013.

Claire is a Commercial Director for warehousing, distribution and e-fulfilment. Shes a specialist in the fashion, beauty, eCommerce and multichannel retail sectors. She uses her retail and supply chain experience and work with the global Seko team to help clients establish, improve and grow successful logistics operations.
Miya is Head of Industry Insight at @WeAreEagleEye & @RetailTechUK Publisher. With nearly 20 years’ extensive editorial, publishing, research and project management. Specialities include business technology research, strategic enterprise application software, digital and mobile technologies, IT management in retail.
Laura is the Head of commercial content operations at Retail Week, in charge of operations for the entire Retail Week Connect campaign portfolio. She regularly hosts and chairs Retail Week awards, events and conferences for the brand.
Liz is a freelance retail & business journalist, content creator, research editor for @etail. She is an experienced business and trade journalist and copywriter with extensive experience in retail journalism specifically, but who also writes on everything from property, technology, employee benefits, HR, mental health and wellbeing, finance, internet retailing, camping, cycling and more.
